André perked up when he saw Daniel at the door. It had been a long day, the sort where he'd burnt the first batch of muffins which had made him late in opening up and then Sage had had some sort of crisis that André just didn't ask about because he'd learned by now that he was happier not knowing and there had been so few customers and the whole day had gone so slowly.
He hoped it was going to perk up a bit now that Daniel was here. He usually enjoyed talking to the man and he certainly was interested in the predicament Daniel seemed to have got himself into with his housemate. André wouldn't say he was a gossip but he was interested in what was happening to his friends. It was also rather a case of being careful what you wished for and André had to wonder how Daniel was coping with that.
"Much better now." He said with a smile. "We're just about to close up. Can I get you something? A cup of coffee?" Technically they'd still be open another half-hour normally but Daniel was the only customer and André was the boss so if he wanted to close and chat with his friend then he could.
