Sébaste didn't know why he'd agreed to the holiday in Wales. Well, he did know because he wanted to be near Kane but now he wasn't certain that the pros outweighed the cons. It had rained every single day since he'd arrived. They hadn't gone outside at all and while Kane's home was large and rambling, it was also dank and dark and horrible. The same actually as his family. Sébaste would never say that to Kane's face but he found the whole lot of them decidedly creepy, the dead ones included in that. He didn't like the way they all went around bowing and scraping to Kane's grandfather or how the man snapped his fingers and expected them to rush around. Expected it from Sébaste as well and that really bothered him. He was the guest. Ordering guests around was certainly against the the correct forms of etiquette.
Even sex with Kane wasn't really enough to make up for all of it. Sébaste constantly felt as if someone was looking over his shoulder ever time he and Kane were together and it was off putting. They couldn't even leave the house to have sex because of the rain. It was aggravating. Looking out of one of the windows to make sure it was still raining, and it still was, he continued on his way towards the library. He could at least brush up on his languages while he was here. Not Welsh, of course, he wasn't going to bother reading anything that was written in Welsh but there might be a book or three in English.
The library was wall to wall shelves full of books. Sébaste ran his fingers along the shelves and picked up the first book he reached, trying to decide from the title on the spine if he'd like it or if he'd be able to read it at all. He picked the book up, flicking it open and running through a few pages before he shivered. He could feel that odd sensation of someone watching him again and he turned round sharply, catching sight of Kane's grandfather standing in the doorway, watching him.
Sébaste opened his mouth and then shut it quickly, waiting for Kane's grandfather to speak first.
