Who: Cassie Blake & Harry Dresden What: Cassie's freaking out, Harry talks her down When: Her first night in Daytona Where: Her room and then the beach Warnings: TBD.
Cassie was stuck. When she woke up in Daytona, she realized quickly she wasn't in her bed in Chance Harbor, Washington. She almost thought she was dreaming, or maybe she had somehow connected with the past somehow, but she didn't remember casting the spell it would take to get her there. And this didn't seem like the past at all, especially when she looked through the tablet that was sitting beside the bed she was in and saw the date. 2015. It was only a couple of years in the future, but that was enough to make every siren in her body go off. She heard the soft rolling of the waves and no, this wasn't Chance Harbor. She wasn't dreaming and this wasn't a spell of any kind. This was real and Cassie could remember her hands trembling at the thought. Why was she here? What was going on? Who the hell did this? Was this her father? No, he was ... dead. He had to be. But if not him, then who?
The rest of the day felt like a blur almost as she spoke to a few people on the network and she found out that there were more just like her here. Victims and ... some that weren't. She was determined to get out, to go back home and forget this even happened, but even if she did go back home, it would be hard to forget. She couldn't think of that right now though, she had to get out. She didn't belong here and this wasn't her life. Cassie had lost so much already with her mother, her grandmother, her father. Adam. And then Diana, her new half sister thought it was so easy to just walk out of her life and she did. She left with Grant. At least she still had Adam's friendship and Melissa and sometimes Faye, but right now, she had no one. She didn't have the circle.
After finding what Daytona considered a magic shop, she was able to get a few ingredients. Whatever brought her here also brought her Book of Shadows. Cassie should have been grateful but she didn't find it in her to be at all. Some guy told her to be patient, that they would all figure out what they were doing here, but Cassie couldn't wait. She wouldn't. She just wasn't to go home. But spell after spell left her feeling more and more defeated to the point where the anger and fear inside of the young witch made the room shake likely. She had to keep herself together, she couldn't make this all crumble around her. She had the ability to. She was a powerful witch, probably the most powerful in her circle next to Diana and that was only because the same blood that ran through Cassie's veins, ran through Diana's. Balcoin blood. Dark magic. She could make this town burn if she wanted to and for a second, she found herself slipping, but suddenly, she closed her eyes and shook her head. She had to get out of here.
It was late at night when she stepped on the beach. It was nearly empty and as she walked ferociously through the sand, she was wiping away tears, trying to get a grip. It seemed the longer and further away she walked, the darker it got and she finally stopped. As she stood there alone, the feeling of everything that happened throughout the day was getting to her, the fight with her father and his death and the fact that the circle almost died again started getting to her. She wondered if they were even thinking of her right now, but most likely probably not. That should have brought a small smile to her face, that maybe they were all okay back at home, but she had no idea. She wondered if Adam was okay, if he was thinking of her, which was stupid because he didn't even look at her like that anymore. It was all so stupid. This was stupid. She stared out at the water and normally, the rolling of waves would soothe anyone, but it just brewed a hurricane behind her eyes. A sob escaped her lips and suddenly, the tears couldn't stop from flowing as the wind picked up around her and the water started to rise, spinning along the water. It was amazing, but it was also reckless, but Cassie didn't care right now.
