Who: Bucky Barnes (Parallel) and Open What: Bucky has been watching his target for some time now When: March 14th, early morning Where: Behind the hotel
He couldn’t remember how he got to this location, but ultimately that didn’t shake him as much as it did the other residents. More than once he had been transported in cyro; asleep in one place, one time, only to wake up weeks, months or even years later and miles apart from the old location. Still, even he could remember talking with Pierce. He had been sitting with his handler in the other man’s kitchen. Pierce had just assigned him his newest mission, two targets, level six for both Captain America and the Black Widow. Confirm kill within 10 hours. He was long outside that window. Granted, his coming here in the first place had put him so far beyond that window even for The Winter Soldier it would have been impossible to complete.
He had heard no news of any of the Helicarriers. There seemed to be no mention of SHIELD in this world at all. There seemed to be no trace of any of the nearby bases either. He was alone… with his mission. No handler. No team. No Hydra. Yet there was still one thing that remained… and that was the mission. He had seen one of his targets on the board. Surprisingly, there was also another version of him in this world. One that claimed he remembered the target… and the target was convinced they had been best friends at one time. Said they were in a war together.
Which one remained up in the air. The Winter Soldier knew, though he couldn’t actively remember, he had been involved in many wars. Hydra had been using him to guide the world toward their goal: unification under their control. Ultimately, it mattered little. He’d known targets to say anything to get him to stop. The Winter Soldier never stopped. He never missed. He never failed.
Now would not be the first time. He had been tracking his current target, learning his new routine and methods. Hard to do as the man was far from settled and chasing the imposter about. Still, this would offer an opportunity, at least. The imposter seemed to have some sort of olive branch between the two. Perhaps he could use that to get close enough. He lingered behind the hotel where he knew his target had been staying. He simply sat down by the exit in the back and waited.
