Alec followed after Jace and merely nodded when his parabatai looked back at him. He hadn't set out to upset Mark, but that was clearly what he had just done. Honestly? He had planned on talking to Mark after he sorted things out with Jace, but that was mainly because he had been so upset with the other that he had really been thinking entirely straight.
He leaned a shoulder against the wall as he waited for Mark to answer the door.
"Mark, please, talk to us. I didn't do it on purpose." Yes, he was going straight to apology mode because he figured this was his mess up this time. He should have warned Mark, he should have included Mark, he should have- there were a lot of should ofs and it was too late to undo what he did. Why couldn't he ever have a serious conversation without things going poorly? Alec was starting to get a headache, but he was going to make sure the man he loved was okay. Now they just had to wait in see if that man would even talk to them.
"We...just want to talk, please. I'm sorry."
This whole thing wasn't his strong suit. No, he'd rather be punching something to get out his emotions, but he had promised Mark that he would talk about things from now on. He was going to do his best not to break that promise, even if he just kind of wanted to turn tail and run.
