Sometimes Mark forgot that the two men he held very dearly to his heart, and himself were just completely different in many ways. He hadn't had the luxury of being raised with the rest of the shadowhunters. Though even if he had, he'd been quite a few years a head of them anyway for the most part. Another thing that slipped his mind here and there. He looked confused over at Alec for a moment, and then Jace chimed in with the mention of Rico's name while the animal was on his way out of the door quickly.
"I...well he told me he was hungry a few days ago, and his leg got messed up in a fight with a stray dog. I offered to help and get him back to health. He's been helping out around the house so I didn't see the harm really." He shrugged his shoulders a little while he looked at Alec and sighed,"He won't come in unless he's allowed to. Besides I can just just tell him to keep to my room and Ty's at night."
Popping another cookie and grabbing one of his own as well he'd wash it down with some of the poured rum while looking to the TV with the movie playing now. He'd taken the space up beside Alec on the right pretty easily and made himself at home. "I didn't name him, by the way..." He propped up on his elbow, "His father named him Rico after an old man that he used to steal cheeseburgers from. So..." He shrugged. Mark enjoyed the fact that he could talk to animals...he just often forgot they couldn't.
