"I hate to break it to you, you always had the dad glare down," she said with a chuckled before stuffing more food in her mouth. "Why did you think they left us alone so much, they knew you had it handled."
Moving to put her container down, she looked at her brother, truly looking at him. "When you are ready, you'll take control back, but you need to get yourself in order first." She held her hands up, "I was joking about the dramatic, but it is there slightly. Do you think I would follow your instructions," she picked up her food again, "if you were acting this way."
They both knew she would break every rule he set and than try to out him as the leader. "We are Lightwoods," she reminded him, "but we aren't just solders and that's one thing the Clave never saw or admit to seeing. Get your affairs in order first and go from there. You might see how things will fall in place."
With a mouthful she informed him, "we are one of the most powerful family of Shadowhunters, but hearts are breakable and even when healed, you are never the same, Alec. Don't try to be what you were, look for who you are."
