Alec frowned at his sister as she laughed at him. His lips quirked slightly to the side before he settled on just rolling his eyes at her. If Izzy wanted to laugh at him then he would just find a way to get her back later. While she felt the need to have her laughing fit he worked on eating more of his food, a wary eye cast towards her just to be safe.
A grunt escaped him at her remark about him talking to Magnus. He wasn't sure he wanted to get back with the warlock. Yes, he still loved him, but there was this angry wound in his heart with Magnus' name on it now. An annoyed look appeared on his face as he chewed slightly on the end of his chopsticks, trying to figure out just what he wanted to say. "Look, Izzy- I'll talk to Mags at some point...just not right away, I, uh, whatever." Always the eloquent speaker. He shifted so it looked the couch was trying to swallow him whole. "I'll work on it, okay?"
This time, it was Alec who let out a laugh, though his was a startled one. "Peaceful? This place has been nothing, but a headache for me. By the Angel, Izzy, my Institute is a madhouse! It feels weird being here because..." They had the chance to be mundane. It was boring and he itched to go back into battle. The Lightwoods were soldiers and had been since the day they were old enough to walk. "I don't know. I keep waiting for something to happen. Something to go wrong. Peace never lasts this long."
He had been in this place awhile now and was coming to the conclusion he was stuck. That was a terrifying idea.
