who alec and mark where the institute what sparring and talks when backdated to super late last night/super early morning rating/status pg-13 probs and on-going
The sound of the training staves hitting each other filled the room, as did the sound of their feet moving quickly across the mats. Alec normally wouldn't have been pushing himself so hard during a training session, but he was angry. There was this ball of emotion sitting in his stomach that he didn't know what to do with. Luckily Mark could handle anything the angry Shadowhunter threw towards him. Some of the shots he went in for were not exactly fighting friendly.
He could feel the sweat forming on his skin and was thankful they had decided to train without shirts on. The last thing he needed was the distraction of a shirt sticking to his flesh. Though, it might have helped him stop thinking about Magnus Bane.
I need a break from us. It's too much right now. Alec's foot slipped and he swore loudly in anger as he fell towards the ground. The staff was tossed to the side as he quickly turned the fall into an acrobatic move. His feet planted hard on the mat and he just kind of knelt there without a weapon.
"Damn it," he snapped before standing up as he picked up the staff. Without thinking, he hurled it across the room, where it slammed into a mirror. A look of pure horror appeared on his face as he realized he had lost his temper for once. "Mark- I didn't mean...sorry," he mumbled before pushing some sweaty hair out of his face.
This whole situation was stupid. He wanted to go curl up in his room and never leave. The sparring hadn't helped like he thought it would. The thoughts about the conversation he had with Magnus still filtered into his thoughts. He felt raw as if any protection he had around his emotions had been rubbed away. Everything hurt, physically and mentally. Magnus swore it wasn't him, but it sure felt like he had done something wrong. He wasn't from the right time and he didn't understand things properly. He hadn't picked when he came from and now it was being held against him. Alec had worked so hard once arriving in Daytona. They had an Institute now! Why was this happening to him? His hands shook with a mixture of rage and unhappiness.
What if the break didn't end? It sure felt like he was already dumped.
