The words leaving Simon's mouth caused Raphael to make a sound of displeasure. Simon was confused and he was starting to think it wasn't just the lack of sleep. Each word confirmed that more and more. Something else was going on wit the younger vampire, something that had more to do with emotions. A soft sigh escaped him before he clasped his hands between his knees. Simon didn't want to be his brother, but he did want to be a part of the Clan.
The questions put Rafe on edge slightly. He had seen this before and he had kind of hoped it wasn't happening with them. He already knew that he was calmer around Simon, more human to be exact. His fangs sank into his lip slightly as he tried to figure out the best way to answer the questions the fledgling was throwing at him.
"No," he finally managed to say. "No, it has nothing to do with clan connections. You feel safe with me, si? I calm you down and you...enjoy spending time with me." A hand came up and he rubbed his face as if it would stop the situation. "The idea of being my brother, hurts and angers you, doesn't it?"
Simon had feelings for him and didn't realize it. That had to be what was going on, Dios. He couldn't even talk to Magnus about this. How was that fair?
