Cole moved forward, gripping Sam's shoulders with surprising strength. "Don't say that. Everyone is a coward at some point or another, okay? Yes, you screwed up. But life is not a book, and you can change things. You can learn from this and move on, and actually try to help people." His grip tightened when he said he could just rebuild it. "You don't get it, do you? You can't rebuild it! I swear to God, Sam, I'll stop you if you ever try to."
He relaxed slightly, dropping his hands to his side. "You thought you were helping her. It's too late to change the past, but... you can still do something for her. I know she liked the water - she loved her boat. I guess her parents would know about her last wishes and all that, but we can't go to them." Getting her out would be difficult, but they couldn't just leave her here.
"I don't know. We'd... have to go late at night, or really early in the morning when most people are asleep. Do you have a... a bag, or anything?" He winced at his own suggestion. "I know it sounds harsh, but we can't just leave her here. We'd have to find a place to bury her, too."
