Ed laughed. "Well, it's a deviation from the literary character...somehow I doubt that the Valmont cooked his own dinners. But he did appreciate fine dining, particularly in the company of a lovely woman, so I hope the deviation is forgivable!"
He deftly transferred the chocolate from the double boiler to the fondue pot and then nodded toward the fruit tray and fondue forks that were on the counter. "Would you be so kind as to take that to the living room? We'll have dessert there..." He picked up the fondue pot and waited to follow her, talking as they went. "Honestly though I only make a few things well enough to serve them to company... so I don't know how domestic I really am."
