Ed caught the cut of Leah's glance toward Ella and wondered whether there was something that Leah knew or suspected but didn't want to share. He couldn't tell if it insatiable curiousity or just an intense level of naivety that made Ella persist in her questions.
He was pleased to see the make-shift shot glasses appear, although he was tempted to chastise Ella for wanting to do a shot of fine, aged whiskey. He reached over and cracked open the bottle, pouring two fingers into each cup. He took one for himself, but didn't drink immediately. "It's easy for stories to get mixed up...it's a big building everyone hears, sees, and knows a little bit of something different! I just hope that the worst of I hear is unfounded!"
