Eli went down after the second shoe hit him, and was just managing to get his bearings back when Reed grabbed him and twisted him around, which really did not help the whole 'world is going sideways' concept. He stared at her dizzily as she sat down on top of him, pressing her knee - purposefully or not, he didn't know (hell she may even be doing it subconsciously) - directly into the giant bruise on his side from when she'd attacked him with a radio. He hissed in pain and tried to understand was she was saying through the dizzy and the hurt and the haze of anger that was clouding his mind.
All he managed to catch of her little speech was "giant fucking psycho" and the tail end of it. A normal person would have recognized this as a chance to escape and would have just nodded along happily to whatever Reed said.
Eli was not a normal person, and he was too far beyond angry to care about whatever consequences would come from what he was about to do. He started to laugh, rather painfully, and at her confused look gave her a manic, bloody grin.
"I'm the fucking psycho, bitch? I'm not the one who broke into another person's house and beat him up. I'm not the one who pushes everyone away because - what, even? You think you're cool, you think it's cool to play the martyr and live your life in solitude, pining away after a girl who'll never love you?" He laughed again, then shoved the girl off him and tried - and failed - to stand up.
