Reed knocked her head against the tile of the shower pretty hard. Water cascaded down on her from the still-running head, soaking through her shirt and making her hair hang about her in sodden tangles. She swept her hair aside angrily and forced herself up with an unsteady grip on the wet porcelain.
She ran out into the bedroom, losing her balance a little and taking a tumble into the wall. She stood for a second, listening, and then dove toward the closet. She ripped open the door and found Eli waiting for her, half dressed and glaring.
She let out a yell and ran forward, crashing into him and causing them both to tumble down onto the clothing-strewn carpet. She rained punches down onto his face, catching him in the eye, the mouth again, the nose, before he managed to get a grip on her arms and shove her off of him.
