Aaron's eyes took a while to get back into focus, and his brain seemed to rattle in his skull before he was out from behind Shiloh's eyes. The alien calm was deep water, disturbed slightly by disappointment, something connected to sex, attraction? confusion? concern. By the time he got done sorting it out--well, and giving up on some of it--a cab had already come to a stop at the curb inches from their feet and he was being hustled inside.
