"Thanks, Trent," Luca said, grateful to have one of his friends there, and even more grateful that Trent had immediately snapped into the situation and picked something useful to do.
Unforunately, since Trenton left and Kane was busy with Vlad, that left him to speak with Reed. Luca suspected he was not the person she would have picked to be holding her sister's hand.
"Reed," he said, loud enough to get her attention. "She's breathing, and she has a pulse. I haven't found a head injury, so I don't know why she..." he trailed off, wanting to say she'll be okay, because that's what he did, he said the right things--but it seemed too big a lie.
