He stared hard at him, preoccupied with why Aaron, of all people, smelled like Boyd. He missed the first half of what he said completely, catching only the gist of the question.
"Your guardian thought I was going to do myself harm," he said, the truth the shortest route to stop talking about this, and hopefully get the kid to leave. He couldn't ask about Boyd since there was no reason he should know that Aaron had seen her. If he didn't mention it, however, curiosity might win out over caution.
