The indecisiveness made her smile a true smile, and she moved aside to let him in. Boyd wasn't accustomed to people her own age, and she wasn't exactly sure how to act around him, but it wasn't a bad thing. It was just... different.
"I'm sorry I'm not dressed for the day yet," she said, motioning apologetically to the tea and cookies on the table. "I haven't managed to sleep none." She didn't say it in a way that required or requested pity; it was just a truth. "But I'm real glad you came." She didn't add that being alone right now was the last thing she wanted, but she really didn't need to. It was written all over her face, and it hung heavy on the robe she was wearing.
