Kane had his free hand on the doorframe, and he dropped it, slowly, watching Vlad.
"I'm sorry that I didn't believe you when you said you cared," he said quietly, tone wavering a little, "I know that it must have been hard for you to admit, and I was too...upset, and tired...to accept it. But I had time to think it over. I just...I wish things were normal between us again, you know? You...you mean a lot to me, Vlad."
It was Kane's turn to ramble, but he felt less self-conscious about it, more self-assured.
