Peter liked a good hand shake. No wimpy hand shakes. That had been what his father had instilled in him. It didn't have to be a long handshake, but a good firm one. And Kane gave him just that. First impressions worked on Peter, and his first impression of Kane was good so far.
He released the other man's hand and transfered the box back to his right hand probably just because he was left handed and liked to keep his dominant hand free.
"Nice to meet you Kane, no last name," he said giving the young man a smile to show he was teasing. "I sure do. I'm his lawyer, though he calls me his clerk as if I were Bob Cratchit," he laughed, thinking the Christmas Carol reference was appropriate to the time of year.
