"Maybe it was the guy in charge." It was meant to be a joke, albeit a bitterly stated and not very humorous one. He did wonder if that thing, whatever it was, had been living in the building the whole time... the catacombs were large, after all. Or maybe it had just appeared. Who knew? It wasn't like they were ever going to be able to find out now. How was he even supposed to know if he had his ability or not? It wasn't like he could just randomly burst into song and see whether it had any kind of trance-like effect on the people around him.
His attention was diverted when Gabby ducked back into the limo, and he watched as she held some charm thing in her hand and whispered a few words. If she was trying to see if her own ability still remained, he assumed it was a success based on her subsequent sigh of relief - so perhaps they hadn't yet lost their connections to their fables. Maybe not even the building's destruction could sever that kind of tie. It was a bit of a relief, but there was still the question of what he was supposed to do now and where to go. The only person he really might have missed aside from Gabby was Lotte, but he had no idea where she was or even if he'd have a chance to say goodbye. Maybe it didn't really matter, though.
He glanced towards Will with a short nod. "I was never aware of any landlord or maintenance man... but it's somewhere to start, I guess. We're all going to have to find other places to live, though. Obviously." Bellum wasn't coming back, and he highly doubted any magical landlord was going to pop up and offer them money or another place to stay. Bran already began thinking of possibilities - he could start traveling again, like before. He had some money saved up, and it wouldn't be hard to get some more. Maybe he'd go back to Europe, find a place to settle down... or he could just keep moving. Never stay in one place for too long. But for now, a temporary plan might be a good idea. "Staying in a hotel is always an option, until people can figure out where to go next."
