The urge to sleep was almost overwhelming, but although he felt his head fall back against the seat a few times and his eyelids became heavy, he managed to stay awake and try his best to remember the route. It wasn't easy, though, with the lack of street signs and rather repetitive landscape. Still, he even tried willing himself to remember, as though some part of him might somehow remember the way back. Besides, falling asleep still wasn't a good idea - not with Ileana right there, at least.
Cole hesitated once the limo stopped and the doors opened, almost not wanting to see what was outside. But the moment passed and he slid out after her, dragging his bag and Salacia along with him. At first he was distracted, keeping a grip on the cat and letting his bag drop to the sidewalk before actually looking up. "So, what's--" The words died on his lips as soon as he caught sight of Bellum, unable to tear his gaze away from the scorching flames that consumed his home. When the creature or whatever it was clawed at the empty air like some kind of angry monster, he flinched in shock, backing up and painfully colliding with the limo. "Jesus--" Salacia clawed at him in fear, but he barely felt the pain - he was barely even aware of Ileana burying her face in his shirt. All he could do was watch as some unseen monster tore the building apart.
Yes, he despised Bellum. He'd had nothing but bad luck since moving in, although there had been some positivest - Sam, before things had gone downhill; people like Ella, Micah and Shane; Aaron, before he died; and of course Ileana. But then there were the darker points, things he couldn't forget even if he tried. Jude's death, Aaron's death, being attacked by wolves and Headless Horsemen... and of course Jason, his stalker, and all the madness he caused. Despite his hatred for the damned place, it was still his home, and now it was gone. There was nothing left... what was he supposed to do now? "Yeah," he managed, remembering that Ileana was there and recovering slightly from his shock. "It... Christ. I can't fucking believe this."
