As she heard Luther's footsteps, she stood. She had ditched her shoes by the door, and padded to the kitchen with bare feet. Leaning in the doorway, she opened her mouth to respond when all the words jumbled up on themselves. His question brought a bright red flush to her face as her eyes widened.

"Uh. Good!" Her voice was a bit higher-pitched than it was normally, and her words began to hasten the longer she spoke. "Were you okay last night? Here? Hannah said you were doing okay. How are you feeling today?"
