P3
After leaving Sherri and Joss to deal with their wounds, Dracula returned to the penthouse and spent the remainder of his night out on the fire escape. He could have continued to hunt outside as he'd done in the past, but the blood of two young females was enough to satisfy his hunger for the night - it would be enough until the next full moon, which would likely be spent outside of the building. The prey was much easier beyond the walls, and there was less of a chance of interference and repercussions for Vlad.
He was high up enough to have a good view of the city below, a few stragglers milling about who were completely oblivious to what was watching them. Dracula didn't like it here; he hated the confining nature of the building, and the city was too modern and crowded for his liking. He wanted to return to Romania, to his castle and his breathtaking view of the Carpathians and the undisturbed land beyond. It seemed doubtful that he would ever be able to return to his proper time, but if there was a way then he was determined to find it.
This time the vampire chose to watch the sun rise, feeling his power begin to weaken as the first bright rays peeked over the horizon. There was a moment of fruitless struggle as he tried to hold on, but he knew the transformation was inevitable. Vlad returned in the midst of wispy disappointment and reluctance, a low sigh escaping his lips as the vampire faded into the back of his mind as usual. He remembered everything that happened, from being interrupted by the redhead to encountering Mina and feeding on the two young women. His teeth were still stained with blood, and he slipped back through the window to wash the remainder of the night's events from his mouth and lips. It really had been a matter of time before Dracula went after Joss, and the girl's stupidity made it hard for the encounter to end any other way, but he did feel a stab of regret when he thought about Sherri. She seemed to have a good head on her shoulders, but it was her desire to protect her sister that had marked her as a victim. They would both be fine, since he didn't think they'd lost too much blood, but he knew the building would hear about this.
Then he remembered that Mina had been stabbed, which wouldn't have hurt the vampire but would certainly have been felt by Helena once she returned. The cross hadn't punctured his skin too deeply, so his own wound was forgotten as he decided to make sure she was alright.
