Aiden Shepard [ Abraham Van Helsing ] (arcere) wrote in bellumlogs,
It had been a long while since anyone had outright said 'it was nice spending time with you', and of course he had nobody to blame for that but himself. Still, he'd felt a bit out of sorts the whole morning, and chalked most of it down to Van Helsing's lingering moral effects. (Which, naturally, had to be the solution, even if he had no past experience with such a thing happening.) Part of him wanted to say she reminds you of someone, part of him wanted to blow this whole thing off, but instead he stood and held the door for her and was caught off-guard by her sudden hug, an arm clasped tight around his neck.
After a few seconds of awkward stillness, he forced a hand up to rest very (very) lightly on the back of her shoulder, the closest to a hug Aiden ever really came.
"I'll look out for it," he said, voice caught somewhere between surprise, disbelief, and vague good humor. For having such a strange night and stranger morning, he found himself not in a particularly bad mood. Maybe it was because she reminded him a little of his ... hm. But she wasn't anywhere near as loud. Maybe he was just getting used to being more social. A rare and mystical phenomenon, indeed.
