Aiden was silent after her question, trying to figure out a way to tell her he was a murderer without actively saying so. It would be easy to slander him like that (except it wasn't slender, he knew it wasn't slander) to someone willing to listen, but she'd probably ask someone else, someone who wasn't going to answer the same way. So ... how to say you hate someone and want them dead by your own hands without admitting to homicidal urges? A question for the ages.
"He's not a particularly good person," he started, voice dry as he thought over his words. "He doesn't seek apologies for what Dracula does." Or if he had, Aiden had missed them - part of him wondered if he'd willfully missed them. He struggled for another line of thought when Lily mentioned her cousin again, and Aiden looked at her, a thin sense of dread starting to creep over his mind. "Your cousin? Who ... is she?"
Was it just a common concern? Or did her cousin know Vlad closely? Common concern, his mind half-pleaded with fate, just let her be concerned for someone she knows that lives here, that's understandable, that's not fated, it's nothing at all, really, just a worried girl. A smaller part of him thought of irony and how much he hated it.
