Aiden Shepard [ Abraham Van Helsing ] (arcere) wrote in bellumlogs,
Aiden, for his part, had come back to his senses well outside his apartment, as Van Helsing had been patrolling for any signs of further vampiric activity in the building once he'd gotten Lucy safely back into the apartment. He'd hurried back down to ensure that in his attempt to not kill her, he'd actually killed her, but other than a nasty-looking bruise developing on the side of her head she'd seemed fine. She was also extremely unfamiliar. He let her sleep instead of waking her up, vaguely hoping that she wasn't suffering a concussion thanks to him. Well, to Van Helsing, really. It wasn't his fault if that old bastard did something stupid.
So he was in the kitchen prodding the kettle and waiting for the water to boil when he heard a thump and the sound of running feet. He turned in time to see her fighting with the door back out to the hallway. Silent, he watched her as she caught sight of him, laughed, covered her face, mumbled something after her cloudy words. An ... apology? Close enough. Aiden picked a second mug out of the nearby cabinet and set it next to his own.
"You're all right, then?" he asked, a little more dryly than he'd expected it to come out. She was probably confused, startled, unhappy, disturbed, distressed ... all manner of unpleasant adverbs. She didn't seem so teasing and violent as her counterpart, but that wasn't much of a surprise. It did mean that he was definitely safe, though. He rubbed the bandage Helsing had applied to his wrist unconsciously and wondered how he was going to deal with the discussion that was sure to come up.
