There was a pause as the Count moved to the top of the stairs. His annoyance with Fernand was only growing - but there wasn't much he could do about it. He took a deep breath, thinking over what he'd read from Xavier and on the computer. It was decided.
"Excuse me," the Count said softly. He stepped up and around Fernand, in the elevator again before de Moncerf could follow. "I'll be right back," His smile was cold as he shut the door behind him, vanishing to who-knew-where. No, he wouldn't be returning. Try that, Fernand. Face some demons.
