Hannah was trying to shy away from that unwanted territory full of questions like 'So do you have any brothers and sisters?', which were really just last resorts to save an awkward situation. Even though she didn't find herself visiting or having visitors very often, her social skills weren't that rusty.
She took a seat in the living room while James opened the wine, glad that she opted for casual flats that served as slippers rather than actual outdoor shoes when she was that the other woman was wearing none. Since she didn't own anything more fancy than generic glass cups that could be bought in bulk, drinking wine from a coffee mug didn't bother her at all. She smiled at the writing on hers, although James's confused her. Then again, maybe it was like her having a mug that said 'dog lover'. Hannah hadn't thought James wasn't straight, because one night at a club didn't mean anything and Lotte was clearly mistaken anyway.
"Thanks for inviting me," she responded with a slight smile. "Sometimes I feel like so much conversation happens over the forums that it's nice to get out of the apartment every now and then." Only pausing to take a sip of wine, she shrugged. "I haven't had anyone over in a while either, though."
