Finally, the tension was at enough of a lull that Vaughn continued in the pursuit of her cigarette -- for the moments leading up to the compliment on her eyes, she'd briefly wondered if she would have to draw on a knife instead. The lid folded under the call of her carved thumb, and she brought the entire pack up to snag a cigarette loose in her teeth. The lighter came next, and after fulfilling it's use, she extended the little Bic to Miles in a peace offering. Her eyebrows ticked in momentary amusement when he commented on Jane being so very nice. In all actuality, !real Vaughn did not approve of !real Jane, and the irony was thick enough to grease her smile.
