She swallowed hard, feeling cornered by the way Luther approached, and if possible, she pressed further back into the stove, almost cowering at their questions. If it had been just Jasper visiting, she wouldn't have felt so on edge, but the presence of the other man, an Inspector no less, made her wonder what was going on. Did they think her responsible for Trenton's death? Was there something else going on?
But then the question turned to her health and confusion washed over her face thickly. Isobel relaxed slightly then, shoulders sinking down, but her arms crossed over her chest in a closed-off manner. "I'm a big girl, Inspector. I do know how to take care of myself," she said shortly, unable to allow herself to trust him. And then Archer spoke, and she looked towards him, lips turning downwards into a frown.
"We've gone days without seeing each other before, Jasper," Isobel said matter-of-factly. "I've been... busy." She shifted her weight to one foot and then the other, glancing off to the side. Shoulders shrunk up towards her ears and she edges past both of them to try and get out of the kitchen, needing space and air to breathe. "You've never worried before over us not seeing each other for several days. I don't know why you'd try now."
