The light follows them, keeping them in the spotlight as they move - Lucas scrambles backwards and Xavier follows with each step. Each missed blow draws a snarl out of him, while each connected blow brings out a smirk. Even as Lucas' reaction is horrific and wrong, he doesn't care, continuing on. The punch connects with his stomach and he bends in double.
Lucas' words cause a chill to go up his spine, but his arm swings out anyway, intending to bring Lucas to the ground. He's not going to be destroyed again and he's not going to be brought down by Lucas. He's worked too hard for this. "You didn't," he hissed. "You tried before, but you know what? I survived, something you never would. You fucking would have crumbled over what I went through. This time, it's your turn."
