"The problem would be getting people to attend," Xavier countered, smiling despite himself. "Unless we used the elevator to trap people." Mouth quirking as he looked to her, he asked in near-seriousness. "Do we have any good mechanics around here?" He took another cookie, munching thoughtfully.
"It's not at all," he assured her. He put down his cookie, leaning forward. “We both mainly work with investments. He had his money in a little of everything – stock market, real estate, and so on – until the recession.” Xavier shrugged. “Lucas has had some trouble recently-” Might as well jab at his pride. “So that’s where I come in.
