Aiden Shepard [ Abraham Van Helsing ] ([info]arcere) wrote in [info]bellumlogs,
Again with the last Van Helsing. Aiden wasn't sure how he felt about the fact that people kept mentioning him - that he seemed to come up without warning and haunt Aiden's actions. He wasn't going to judge the man, since he'd seemed to have the same sort of vendetta Aiden did. But he hadn't been successful. Shane mentioned that he'd drowned, and it hadn't been Vlad's doing. That they knew of.

Warning the building was an idea. But most of the people living here were as callous and preoccupied as he was, and since it apparently hadn't worked in the first place, he figured he'd been right in not bothering. His revenge was a personal thing. Aiden did not want to get other people involved. Even if they knew, even if it was people who were on his side and knew about Vlad, like Oliver and Joanie, he didn't want to have them involved. Most of his reasons were selfish; a few were out of concern for them.

"The only thing that's going to make me feel better is killing you," he snapped. "I'd be deranged to think you weren't involved in at least one case somewhere in this city. That sort of thing damns you just as much as it protects you." An awful thought clawed for attention, but he buried it. "Do you think I don't have a record of what happened to my sister? Are you so arrogant to think that there aren't police files of the things you've done, out there in the world? They may not have your name on them, but they are there, and they are proof." Or so he assumed. That kind of death ... people would notice. Right?
