Typically con artists did not like being addressed by their first names. Iris had many names she used over the course of her profession, and though she associated most closely to Iris, she didn't overuse the appellation any more than any other. Iris was what she called herself in her mind, and was generally how she introduced herself to professional friends. It was also, naturally, the one she was using right now, and the one she had given the government.
When you give a government your name, it's a good idea to stick to it, regardless of how you feel when you're approached by strange men who look like they might be remembering something you would prefer they didn't remember. Rather than sliding another glance at the elevator and considering an escape route, she looked into the man's face, hard. Still no recognition. "Yes; new to the building?" Polite polite. Iris brushed at her sleeve, as if an absent movement entirely, but she felt it would be a good idea to hide the IV marks and the hospital bracelet she hadn't been able to remove yet.
