One or two people had addressed an interest in having their papers and plastics put to a better, more eco-friendly future, and that had been enough reason to climb several flights of stairs to go up and collect it. It hadn't really amounted to much--just a couple of bags of newspapers, soda cans and the like, but he'd hauled it with him into the elevator. Parker had planned on just walking down with it, but it was enough to fill his hands and something seemed to always slip out when he joustled them around too much. If he kept it up, he'd get everything down the stairs just by virtue of it rolling down.
When the door opened to let in an additional person, he glanced up from the screen of his MP3 player and smiled, pulling out the ear buds. "Hey." It was another one of the many, many neighbors he hadn't met yet, which in itself was interesting. Guy looked like he'd been hit with a bus, though.
