James didn't shrink under Hannah's reformation, even if James thought that this was kind of a waste of time.. it was obviously important to Lotte. It was mostly the idea of being a personal reference for Lotte that James found so compromising, James wasn't exactly the type of person to be chosen as a character witness in most situations. Besides, why did Lotte even want a pet? Didn't they chew on everything?
Still, James shrugged noncommittally and dropped the disassembled orange rind onto the coffee table as she stepped past. Then, she glanced up at Hannah with a questioning tilt of her head.
"I know you," she interrupted. Despite the contemplation in her stormy eyes, the words did not fall in the form of a question. They were precise, and confident of the truth. She knew Hannah from somewhere.
