He lowered his beer bottle, mind going to the pesky world of business. Damn it, he hated these things. "Depends on the product itself. I'm going to need to see some proof of progress and so on - updates and the like." He raised a finger, adding. "Blueprints could be enough. Proof that you have facilitites and the people ready to hire to do this - unless you're taking it on yourself."
As for the money itself...Xavier could have bought the entire building if he wanted to, Roof, Penthouses and all. A little money on a research investment couldn't hurt - and besides, he wanted to make sure Sam kept silent. He was indebted to him, he realized, just by him keeping this secret. While he didn't mind taking favors from others - or doing them for people he knew were good and he trusted, Sam didn't fall under those categories.
