Re: Orange County Hospital - ER ---- > Bellum!
She opened her mouth to bite back when he disappeared, so she stayed put, pouting slightly. Just as she was about to go sit in the hallway to avoid having to sit in the same room as Rosalie while she cried, Joanie looked up to see Sam return with a woman in tow. Of course, she was absolutely gorgeous, though Joanie was at the moment too tired to be jealous. She could do that later.
As Sam introduced the woman as "Dr. Kiki," Joanie resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Frankly, she was being very good. She offered a smile, weary and paper-thin, and stood as the other woman expressed her condolences about the accident. Joanie figured he had invented some kind of falling down the stairs fiasco for all this, and stopped dead when she congratulated her on their wedding.
Wedding? She shot Sam a look as he jovially explained their accident, a problem with hot candle wax play. Clenching her jaw, Joanie hoped that their car exploded on the way to Bellum because she was going to murder him if they got back.
"Thanks," she said to the blonde. "If only he was as smart as he had seemed when we were dating, this whole fiasco could've been avoided." The doctor giggled, beckoning to them as she lead them out of the ER. She glanced at Luther as they left, waving to him before they disappeared.
The drive back to Bellum was short, full of Dr. Kiki making polite small talk that Joanie numbly responded to as generically as possible. Finally, they reached the building. With a "thank you" to the nice doctor, Joanie climbed out of the car, still wrapped up in her blanket as she stood on the sidewalk.
She watched Dr. Kiki's car drive away before looking at Sam pointedly. "Newlyweds, huh?" she asked, though she managed to make those two simple words sound like an accusation. "Is that how you managed to secure her help without having to do her in the break room?"
