Right of the Lobby
Joss had only minutes to comprehend that her dancing partner was dead and lying on her. She staggered backwards against the wall, hands pushing frantically to get him off of her. Badr was gone, where she didn’t know or didn’t care because the police had come after her clearly (and not anyone else, duh) and they had shot at him and he was dead and oh god.
She managed to shove him away and he fell towards the ground, lifeless eyes staring up at her. Her screams, unintelligible and hysterical continued as she backed up – her back meeting the wall. For the first time in her life, she didn’t want attention – she simply was scared shitless over what happened to the man whose name she didn’t know.
A hand went to her mouth, trying to silence herself but she pulled it away a moment later. Blood, she was bleeding – no it was his and it was on her, which was somehow worse-
And then the blinding light and pain hit as she crumpled to the ground. Her screaming didn’t stop when she realized she was in Bellum – she only began to wail for her sister, hands out-stretched before her.
