Re: Outside the Palace
Beauty recognized Mina, and Ella (in the back of her mind) was completely grateful her friend was safe, even if she was about to be burned along with the rest of them. At Joanie's urging, Beauty changed her tactic from trying to control the flames and keep down the stragglers at their feet, and she opted, instead, to keep the mob back, using vines to push them further and further toward the forest. It meant, unfortunately, that anyone trying to get to them was going to have to get through the vines, but it was the best she had at the moment.
By the time Helena - no, Mina, used her strength to break free of her bonds, Beauty had managed to encircle the four of them (and their burning stakes) in a safe wall of thorns. She looked over at Joanie, and she gave the other woman a nod that said they'd be fine, a promise, a vow, and she watched Mina help Tegan.
In the crowd, they were calling for axes, and they started work on the vines, and she very much hoped for beasts and vampires and tigers to halt their progress.
