Sherri knew they weren't really at the hugging stage of friendship, yet, but she was glad that he seemed to think the situation called for an exception, too. She tightened her arms around him, trying not to break down and start babbling. "I didn't think I'd be seeing anyone I knew, and I still don't know if my sister is here or somewhere else, and it's good to at least know someone I know is okay... oh God, you're okay, right?" He looked okay, but she drew back, herself, to get a better look.
His hat made her smile a little; apparently someone had told him that he needed a cockade, too, and she spared a moment to wonder who. "Your face looks a lot better." Of course, it only made sense that the bruise would have faded, by then, but it was the only thing she could think to say that she could definitely stay calm about.
