The last thing Brian expected to see was somebody he knew. This was partially because he knew so few people, and partially because he had reasons to believe that this situation was constructed specifically to torture them all. However, he couldn't think about that when the sound of a broom clattering to the floor shocked him from the pain and confusion and exhaustion that had consumed him. Jumping in surprise, he looked up from the floor to see none other than Sherri running towards him.
He choked on a gasp, extending his arms to catch her in an enormous bear hug. Though they weren't very well acquainted, Brian had liked Sherri. She was a nice girl with a good head on her shoulders, and he really appreciated how friendly she had been towards the weird old guy that just moved in upstairs. So he greeted her like a good friend, holding her tightly for a long few moments before pulling back just enough to look at her.
"My God!" he exclaimed, face lit up with joy. "I'm so glad to see you're okay!" He gave her shoulder a friendly squeeze. "This whole thing has knocked my head around so much, I gotta tell ya. And I am so happy to see a familiar face."
