Group Xi Plot Post Day 3/4
By now, our travelers should be fed, warm and somewhat familiar with their surroundings and with the local people. Unfortunately, their very presence has altered the timeline.
The four locals that Vlad and Ella accosted for their clothing included a woman named Anna Demidova, a lady-in-waiting to the Empress, who had been sent into the crowd to spy for the Romanov family. She's run back to the palace with tales of witches, and the Empress believes they have been sent by her darling, dead Rasputin, and she's trying desperately to find them (Vlad particularly, who she thinks is the Mad Monk himself). There's also talk of a Beast in the woods (and, mistakenly, in the stables), and plans are brewing in the village to go hunt the creature down. The young Tsarevich was overheard telling his sisters that three men (Daniel, Vlad and Luther) were going to save them. Others in the group are feeling the effects of the weather, and Rosalie and Will are feverish and unwell.
[OOC: Tuesday, June 22 - Wednesday, June 23]
Day 3. March 20, 1917
Around Alexander Palace
There is a formal dinner scheduled for Alexander Palace the following evening, and Georgy Lvov and Pavel Milyukov are wandering around the village and palace on the morning of Day 3 looking for volunteers to go in and listen and mingle. They offer appropriate clothing and access to the volunteers. (All members of the imperial family can be assumed to speak Russian, English, German and French at least passably.) The Grand Duke is also making his rounds, but he's looking for pretty women to talk to.
→ Georgy Lvov is a Dresden Prince, and throughout the evening he is speaking to palace workers and townspeople alike, asking for volunteers to suppress the violence that is happening daily in the country. His intentions, he assures, are pure and just. He claims to know about about the predicament of the travelers. He even mentions fairytales and seems to know about the stories, though he will not go into detail. Ella, Joanie and Nicky take the bait.
→ Pavel Milyukov is a military man, and it shows. He is rough spoken and quick to anger, but he also seems exceptionally capable. He is very specific about his knowledge of certain members of the group (He knows, he says, that there is a witch (Joanie) among the 'travelers' as he calls them, with exceptional powers), and he offers to help you if you help him. Vlad, Oliver and Luther think this is a good idea.
→ Grand Duke Michael, who will be at the dinner, is touring the area. He is utterly refined and handsome. He is friendly with the Tzar's family and he defends them to everyone he encounters (he also has an eye for the ladies). He doesn't seem to know anything about the tales or the stories, and he's a wicked flirt. It seems he has his eyes set on Helena and Darcy, and he insists they be his guests at the dinner in his honor the following night.
[Group Xi members can narrative, doc, have 1-on-1 logs or group up in threads on Day 3. Tuesday/Wednesday are fair game for whatever you guys want to write, so feel free to have your characters meet up with whoever (just make note of who they ran into for Day 4's dinner).]
[OOC: Thursday, June 24 - Friday, June 25]
Day 4. March 21, 1917
Alexander Palace
It's the night of the dinner in honor of the Grand Duke (Nicolas has not yet returned home). Our spies (Vlad, Luther, Nicky, Joanie, Oliver and Ella) will all be in attendance, dressed as members of society, while Darcy and Helena have special summons from the Grand Duke (along with opulent dresses to wear for the occasion). Servants of the palace have access to the grounds throughout the affair, and others can sneak in or sneak onto the grounds (as long as they stay out of sight of the true!Imperial diners).
[The dinner will be set up as a party thread on the morning of June 24th (OOC time), and all members of the group may participate.]
