He didn't expect anything less of Daniel than him ignoring him - Luther merely sighed at his behavior. The interaction between the two was interesting, but not enough for him to learn much. He didn't understand how someone could be on good terms with a murderer though. Unless, of course, they didn't know of it. Bringing that subject up now wouldn't help in the long run - Javert even knew that and Luther kept quiet, hands clasped firmly behind his back.
"Then we need to assure them we have nothing to do with them. We're out of town, possibly together or not..." More than likely not, with their language choices. Luther grimaced, as the question was thrown back to him. "I can get by in Spanish, but that's it." His tone was a tad defensive, but how was he supposed to know as a teenager that one day he'd be sent back in time to Russia? Or even that was an incarnate of a French inspector?
You're forgetting something, Javert said and Luther frowned. What? He could practically hear Javert's roll of the eyes. The French I assisted you with earlier. If we switched-
"No." It was furious enough to be said out loud and Luther shook his head. To the others he added, "Javert has French obviously. He seems to think that he can arrive now. If I speak slowly, that might work..." Possibly. If Javert was willing to cooperate. From the silence he suddenly heard in the back of his mind, Luther doubted it. You'd be keeping the others safe if you didn't talk...
And hurting them as well by not helping them. There was a beat as Luther realized. Like Joanie said ages ago, back when we talked about- Javert interrupted, YOU HAVE TO STOP TALKING TO THE WITCH, YOU IDIOT. ARREST HER, BURN HER ALREADY YOU-
A hand went to the side of his head as he grimaced, refusing to say anything more.
