The man in control - clearly a doctor of some sort - the frantic, angry young woman, the silent man, the kid still holding onto the bayonet, the unconscious woman on the bed. Nearby nurses and other doctors, appearing and disappearing into the halls and rooms to treat the countless wounded. Will didn't know these five people, but he figured that after all this, they'd know each other well enough to have secrets. In a frantic place like this, who knew what would happen next, what would be necessary? What kinds of things would they have to say or do to survive until they got back to safety?
It didn't help that the Hessian wanted to take control and go back out into the streets to cause rampant terror and destruction. It was bad enough hearing him complain about Will's refusal to start killing; listening to him insist that he relinquish control of his own body was just ridiculous. As if he would.
No, this wasn't a very good place to stay - other people needed to get here. As long as they were healed, they were taking up space.
"Unless it looked abandoned, chances are someone'll come back." He kept his sentences short and clipped. "Best place to be is as far from the center of the fighting as possible, someplace nobody's coming back to." no don't fight it! get there, get in to the heart of it don't spurn the blood!
