Most of the day had been spent lying ill in bed - she'd called work and said she couldn't come in and was sick. An ice pack and ibuprofen had been taken, but she hadn't been able to sleep. In fact midnight had her wide awake and staring at her computer, wondering why everything had to be building spread - it made her debate if asking if everyone else heard voices too.
Singing was impossible - she tried and only felt dizzy. She couldn't even feel bad about it.
The change in surroundings came as she got up from her chair to get a drink - the dizziness was attributed to the feeling all day rather than the change. It took a moment for her to register the scream of the crowds. Another was needed to realize she was in her pajamas - not changed - and that what they were yelling was French.
Another to realize she was hearing things again, but for once they were welcome. A hand went to her mouth, as memories and feelings mingled. Despite the sudden change, she couldn't help but feel a rush of empathy as Christine entered her mind. Her arms hugged tightly around herself as Christine demanded to know where they were. She could deal with this voice.
