She recognized her own weakness, which was good, but it was finding something to motivate her to conquer it that would prove to be the challenge. Giving up was always the easy route, and fighting fear was a lot harder than simply succumbing to it. If she was only agreeing this to placate the voice inside her head, perhaps the same motivation could be used again.
