It was one minute after noon, and Archer was growing irritated. Punctuality was important, after all. Isobel agreed with him on that front. Clearly, this Samuel did not. He began to fidget, messing with the collar of his shirt and walking in small patters in the lobby.
Finally, a voice stole his attention. He glanced over at the other man, eyes widening momentarily as he extended a hand. Archer hadn't expected to see a fellow scientist that was so normal looking. Objectively attractive, even. It was strange, like seeing a cat walk on its hind legs.
He resisted the urge to glare at the nickname - first J-per, now Jay - and took his hand, shaking it firmly. Archer's hand was spindly and thin, almost like a spider. He offered the other man a smile. "You as well, Samuel. It's a relief to meet another researcher. And in molecular biology, no less."
